Excerpts........ you'd most definitely notice the unit's rich, genuinely
acoustic tone pouring through its speakers.
The Pro 200 packs a remarkable amount of power and possibilities into a small amp:
with 200 watts driving two eight-inch speakers (plus horns) to deliver clean, natural-sounding
acoustic tones with plenty of low end. The unit features two separate channels: a ¼-inch guitar input that features simple bass and treble controls, a notch filter for dialing out frequencies that cause feedback and other noise, and a shape switch that boosts high and low frequencies while cutting midrange: and a mic/aux channel with ¼-inch and XLR jacks. Both options offer a 16-position switch for digital effects, which allows you to choose from a number of reverb and delay sounds, as well as chorus and flange.
The amp has a master volume control as well as a horn volume that adjust the amount of signal sent to the horns. This allows you to control the amp's high-end output separately from the unit's EQ. So if you're trying to dial out harshness in your tone or high-end feedback, you don't have to flatten the guitar's tone to do so.
The first thing I noticed about the Pro 200 was the amp's booming bottom end, which didn't just reproduce the guitar's lower frequencies but accentuated them, (with a little tweaking of the EQ and horn volume I was able to dial in a balanced sound that worked great on everything from loud strumming to delicate fingerpicking. Used tastefully, the digital effects sounded fine, and I found big and small room sounds to suit my tastes. At loud volumes, the amp never distorted and did a nice job of minimizing feedback.
The PRO 200 is one great acoustic amp....
