As you may or may not know ~ Del Langejans has retired.
This is the last guitar he built.
Thus, he pulled out all the stops on this one.
It is #10 of 10, Limited Edition guitars built out of 30+ year old Brazilian Rosewood.
Our set is particularly fine, of the Black Brazilian variety.
Del procured this many years ago. He first saw it in lumber form, and as it was so rare and so expensive, bought just 3 sets a month.
Over the years, he used some of those precious sets for his famous classical guitars.
Now, at the end of his stellar guitar making career, we find ourselves in possession of the last guitar of that exotic wood.
Del paired it with a Port Orford Cedar top.
Extra Curly Koa bindings and accents.
Double abalone & extra curly koa rosette.
Stunning abalone rose headstock inlay.
Abalone headstock logo.
Gold Gotoh 510 tuning machines with ebonoid buttons.
Abalone dove fretboard markers.
Abalone top trim and back center strip.
Brazilian Rosewood bridge.
Bone nut & saddle.
Depth at the tail is 4 5/8".
Solid Rosewood neck, one of Del's signature details, which adds to the resonance & sustain.
Gold series Ameritage case completes the package.
Truly a collectible guitar, but we are certainly hoping someone plays this last guitar by Del for many years to come.
This instrument is surely the pinnacle of his long & lustrous career.
