Some Background
Bryan Galloup started his luthier career working with world famous guitar builder, repaiman, author and video maker Dan Erlewine in the early eighties. They made a strong building and repair team and together they pioneered lutherie techniques and tools used in the business today. Bryan took over the Guitar Hospital in 1986 when Dan moved to Ohio to become the head of research & development for ........

Over the past 20 years Bryan has become one of the countries premier repair and restoration specialist. His resoration techniques have been featured in numerous magazines, books and videos and he is always a popular guest speaker at trade shows.

In 1988 Bryan founded the Galloup School of Lutherie. Over the past 10 years his school has grown to become a prestigious world-renown Lutherie school with students attending from around the world..........

His shop has grown into a 4500 sq. ft. totally climate controlled state of the art shop that is now called Galloup Guitars. One of the things that Bryan is most proud of is that his shop is totally envionmentally friendly. Every aspect of Bryan's shop that deals with hazardous materials is completely contained.

Another unique feature of Galloup Guitars is they utilize the Buzz Feiten tuning system. Meaning, the instrument is in tune all the way up the neck. It does not progessively get sharp as do most guitars.

Bryan's passion is his line of hand-crafted acoustic guitars. His desire was to create unique instruments based on traditional building principles, but another line of Martin copies was not what he had in mind. He designed and redesigned until his line of guitars were distinct instruments in all aspects. Every Galloup Guitar is built from only the finest materials available. All tone woods are air seasoned after kiln drying for a minimum of 18 months. This kind of wood monitoring ensures that all woods used are stable through season and climate changes. Because Bryan wanted to be absolutely sure about the date the wood was processed, he set up his shop with full resawing capabilities so he could cut and date the wood himself. With the exception of fret wire and tuners, every part of the Galloup Guitar is built in house.

Galloup Hybrid: Some of the finest Fiddle-back Mahogany we've seen! And you know, Bryan has such a good sense of style. This guitar has fiddle-back Honduran Mahogany back and sides, with the same bookmatched on the back of the headstock. Also, the neck is flame mahogany as well. Even the soundhole is bound in mahogany. So elegant. Abalone rosette. The top is Mastergrade Sitka spruce and the bindings are mahogany for a clean, monochromatic look. Mini chrome Schaller tuning machines with Ebony buttons. Ebony fretboard, which is bound; outlined with a fine purfling line. Ebony headstock face plate also with purfling line, and MOP logo. 1 3/4" nut width. Split saddle; ebony bridge. Bone bridge pins. More features are kerfing locks for stability and graphite neck reinforcements, which are awesome for drop tunings, and the headstock is tapered. Purest of pure tone. Galloup Eclipse: This 12 fret guitar is outstanding! Reserve stock Brazilian Rosewood back and sides with an attractive Adirondack spruce top. Ebony fretboard and bridge. The fretboard and headstock have a fine purfling line for accent. 1 3/4" nut; 2 1/4" string spacing at the split saddle. Abalone rosette. Snakewood bridge pins with MOP dots. Ebony headstock faceplate with MOP logo. Chrome vintage Waverly tuning machines. The back of the headstock has a beautiful piece of Brazilian rosewood. The headstock and fretboard termination have the same profile, very cool! ALSO, the headstock is tapered, i.e. it is 5/8" thick at the nut and 1/2" at the end of the peg head. This is an oh, so subtle detail, one among many that make Bryan's guitars stand out from the pack. The purpose is to remove mass off the face not the back of the headstock. Too cool. This guitar also has a Shorter, 25" scale. Brazilian Rosewood body, soundhole, and fingerboard bindings; tailwedge and heelcap. Galloup Florentine: Fabulously figured Brazilian Rosewood back and sides (from Bryan's personal Reserve Stock) with a Bearclaw Sitka spruce top. Florentine cutaway. Fancy Brazilian rosewood rosette with segmented purfling accents. Bound Soundhole. The Ebony fretboard measures 1 3/4" at the nut and is outlined with a delicate purfling line. The neck & headstock are bound in Ebony. Custom fingerboard termination. The neck is also reinforced with graphite to stiffen it, ideal for drop tunings. This instrument also has Custom kerfing locks to stiffen the sides ~ This puts no stress on the top or the back. Very comfortable Brazilian Rosewood top BEVEL. The body is bound in Brazilian rosewood and the heelcap; tailwedge & headstock backplate are also Brazilian Rosewood. The headstock faceplate is Ebony with a MOP logo. Galloup G3 (Solstice): Amaaaaaazing guitar! Brazilian with Bravado! We're talkin' jes' a LITTLE FIGURE HERE! This is not the new stump wood that is going around, Bryan has had this set for quite awhile, and it was 15 years old when he got it! Fine European spruce top. Just about everything else on this guitar is BRAZILIAN! Very cool Brazilian fingerboard. Brazilian body and fingerboard binding and back strip. Brazilian bridge and front and back headstock faceplates. Gold Waverly tuners. MOP "G" headstock logo. Abalone rosette. Fine purfling lines accent the top, back, sides and fingerboard.
