We are particularly proud to be a George Lowden Dealer here at Guitar Gallery. As you know, Lowden Guitars are hand made in Northern Ireland. The internal bracing is hand carved and its unique design gives Lowden Guitars their characteristic rich tone. The beauty of the select tone woods is fully appreciated because each guitar has a hand-polished natural satin finish. Lowden Guitars have an integral truss rod which does not compress the neck wood. All Lowdens come with Hiscox hard shell cases.

  • Lowden S35Jx: Unmatched beauty! This is our very first Brazilian nylon stringed Jazz box from George and the grade of the Brazilian is the very highest. It is extremely dark with hints of Green and very tightly grained. Quarter-sawn, of course. This is sometimes called Black Brazilian. It is matched with a dark Cedar top, and understandably ~ the sound is FANTASTIC! The Bass is especially stirring. As with all the jazz models, we have an active pickup. This one is a Fishman Natural. Also soft cutaway and Abalone rosette. The laminated neck is Mahogany & Rosewood. This guitar features multiple top, back & side purfling lines for accent. The Ebony fretboard is also outlined with purfling lines, and ~ bound in Rosewood. Curly Maple body binding. Pearwood tail wedge. Gold Schaller, Hauser-style tuning machines with pearl buttoms.     Yes folks, that's right! All you Lowden owner/lovers need to get a bottle of this. This is the stuff the folks at Lowden use on their fine guitars, and we recommend you do the same. It took some searching, but Charlie finally tracked down the source for this much needed product. Because of the superb hand polished finish on Lowden guitars, you do NOT use regular guitar polish on them. Only PUNCH will do. $5.95 for an aerosol bottle.

  • Lowden O Premier: USED ~ 2003. This is one of the premier guitars built at the old Lowden factory. For about 2 years, instead of labelling them O35 they used different designations for different woods. So this is an 0320 which means Indian Rosewood Premier. You can see it has all the usual Premier appointments: the abalone rosette; the bound fingerboard with purfling lines; the different laminations on the neck and the side purfling lines. It also has a German Spruce top. What Brilliant Tone! Articulate and Lively. 1 3/4" nut on the Ebony fingerboard. Gold Schaller tuning machines with Ebony bunntons. Pinless, signature Lowden split-saddle Rosewood bridge. Clear pickguard. Original Hiscox case. One top ding/squiggle and some very superficial scratches on the back makes the condition EXC. SOLD....
  • Lowden S25Jazz: Lowden Jazz box! Indian Rosewood back and sides with a Western Red Cedar top. Soft cutaway. These jazz models have hand-carved, stiff bias braces, voiced to suit the under-saddle, Headway pickup. It sounds fantastic acoustically or plugged in. The neck is 1 7/8" wide at the nut and is the usual 5 piece laminate. The fretboard is ebony and bound in ebony. Rosewood bridge. Mahogany body bindings with Mahogany, Sycamore and Rosewood purflings. 650mm scale length. Slotted headstock with Schaller tuning machines with white Pearloid buttons.   • Lowden O-50 Custom Series: The 50 series are basically one of a kind Lowdens, made under the direct supervision of George, himself.
    George says about this particular guitar: "Words cannot describe how beautiful..."

    This amazing piece features Quilted Honduras Mahogany back and sides with AAAAA (Lucky Strike log) Redwood top. Sumitra, from Lowden Guitars said... "The Quilted Mahogany was special reserve that we got our hands on (we have one more set - that's it) and the redwood is one of ten tops that we are holding in reserve for special editions."

    The Bracing Voicing is Hand carved,dolphin profile - treble bias. The Soundbox Voicing is profiled to slight treble bias. The 5 piece neck is laminated Mahogany & Rosewood. The Ebony Fingerboard is bound with Cocobolo & Pearwood and has ultra colorful abalone Leaf inlays. The tuning machines are Gold Gotoh 510 with Ebony buttons. The body is bound in Figured Sycamore. The Heelcap is Cocobolo. The top Purflings are Sycamore, Rosewood, & Mahogany. The back center strip is Figured Pearwood & CocoBolo. The Rosette is figured Tasmanian Blackwood with Abalone. This soundhole is different from standard Lowdens in that the wood part of the rosette turns right into the binding of the soundhole. Very cool, indeed. The headstock overlays are Bookmatched Cocobolo front and back and the headfacing is bound in Cocobolo and Pearwood. The tail wedge inlay is Figured Pearwood & Cocobolo. The nut is 1 3/4" and the string spacing at the saddle is a generous 2 3/8" for wonderful ease of play. This guitar has a 650mm scale length. The tone is robust and brilliant.   • Lowden Millenium Twins: Model O cutaway and S cutaway. LIMITED EDITION: ONLY 25 PAIRS OF THESE WERE MADE & this set is # 25.

    Available in a matching pair, an O cutaway and S cutaway, these guitars are made from non tropical woods using trees which have fallen due to natural causes, not harvested for commercial use. Each guitar features matching back and sides from the most exquisite figured Claro Walnut log, and a tight grain, Master Grade, aged Redwood top, from the same split "billet". The headstock is overlaid in dark Claro Walnut to match the back and sides and inlayed with the customary Lowden logo. A special Millennium logo is descreetly inlayed on the guitar heelcap. The bracing on each pair is hand-carved to accentuate the unique voicing, which has become Lowden's trademark. Elegant wood inlays and a Pear and Ebony bound fingerboard add the finishing touch to these Millennium edition guitars.

    This pair is in MINT condition... these are year 2001 guitars. Our Millenium set is nothing short of stunning! The necks are the usual 5-piece construction for stability. The Redwood top glistens...... The Claro Walnut is figured and the sets for these 2 guitars match. The rosette is abalone ~ surrounded by Sycamore & ebony purfling. Each guitar has a clear pickguard. The fingerboard is bound in Ebony & Pearwood and has fine purfling lines running the length of each side. The body is bound in figure Sycamore, accented by purfling lines.   • Lowden 25th Anniversary Silver Jubilee! 1999 ~ Near Mint.....SOLD. Gooooodness, Gracious! This is the most extravagant Brazilian Rosewood that we have seen on ANY of the Silver Jubilees! What figure, what color! Magnificient in every way. Cedar top. Tasmanian Blackwood binding on the body and at the heel grafts. Special Celtic inlays on the fingerboard and headstock. The headstock is overlayed front and back plates with Brazilian. Gold Schaller tuners with Ebony buttons. Abalone rosette. Clear pickguard. 1 3/4" nut width on the Ebony fingerboard. 5 piece neck that consists of Mahogany, Walnut, and Purple Heart. The fingerboard is bound with Brazilian Rosewood with a fine line of Tasmanian Blackwood. This fine line is echoed on the edges of the fretboard as well. Another feature that sets the 25th Anniversary models apart is the interior. The soundboard braces themselves have been painstakingly carved & buffed (yes, they are rubbed smooth to offer less resistance to the vibrating air). The bracing pattern may be similar to other Lowdens, but much more time was devoted to the voicing of the soundboard on these models, honing it to George Lowden's own exacting specs.
