JONATHAN PAYNE GUITARS

Some Background
Johnathan Payne has studied with some of the world's finest luthiers. Accepting the best that each
had to offer, he has merged his ideas and theirs to create his own techniques and style of building.
Each handbuilt instrument is an original. Beginning wtih hand selected exotic and domestic woods,
he builds by integrating knowledge and experience with an ever expanding vision of acoustic theory and harmonic
balance. Hours are spent on attention to detail, structural integrity and tonal purity. . . allowing the
instrument to perform as a unit and not a collection of parts. His years of devotion to the art of luthery reflect
a profound involvement with the fundamental properties of music, its roots, and how it is made today.
The end result is not only an aesthetically pleasing work of art, but an instrument that may be enjoyed indefinitely.

Jonathan's workmanship is impeccable. He utilizes wood bindings, bone or fossilized ivory nuts & saddles,
ebony fingerboards, and wooden bridges. Absolutely no plastic or artificial materials are used in the creation
of a Payne instrument. Standard appointments include:
- Bound headstocks and Tapestry or Pinline purfling
- Bound fretboards with a 14" radius
- 25 11/32" scale length
- 1 3/4" to 2 1/8" fretboard taper

One minor "love mark" on the back... sort of a swirl in the finish that some might call a cosmetic flaw... we think
it just means it is a hand-crafted rather than production line guitar. Some folks would never see it, but you know us...
