PERRY GUITARS

Some Background:
Darren began his career in 1994 with an apprenticeship under Harry Fleishman. For
three years he was immersed in learning about guitar construction, sound, and
design. Darren moved to Tennessee in 1997 and repaired full time for the next
three years. In 2001, he found himself with a beautiful wife, a baby boy, and
a passion to build guitars again. His ever growing knowledge and forward
thinking have led to the guitars Darren builds today.
All Perry guitars feature select tonewoods and all wood bindings. Features such
as the elevated fingerboard extension and unconventional top and back
bracing are all focused toward producing an ideal guitar for the fingerstyle
player. He also utilizes zero frets, multiple soundholes, individual saddles,
and access panels with variable porting to control tone, note seperation and
string balance.

Perry DJFS-12: Wow, this is AMAZING! Van-Gogh like Brazilian rosewood back and sides with a lovely Western Red Cedar top. Koa body binding,
heelcap and tailwedge. This guitar features the PERRY PIN NUT. It is revolutionary and just like Darren to come up with
something like this. Slotted headstock with Bronze Schaller tuners/ Ebony buttons. Beautiful Brazilian/Abalone rosette made
from the same Brazilian set as the back and sides. The ebony bridge is unique in that every string has its own
individual saddle. Ebony fretboard that measures 1 3/4" at the nut. Cantilevered fingerboard that allows access way the
heck up the neck. TONE, TONE, and did we mention the TONE? Cedar Creek case included in our price of
SOLD. Front... Closer...

Perry DJFS-12 Cutaway: Brand New ~ and, ooooh so cool! Mahogany back and sides with a creamy Sitka Spruce top.
Soft cutaway. Rosewood body binding. Spalted Maple rosette, tail wedge and truss rod cover. 1 13/16" nut with 2 3/8" string spacing at the saddle.
Ebony split saddle bridge. Elevated fingerboard with neat fingerboard extension. Another interesting detail is a MOP beauty mark off - center in the rosette.
Little accents like this are part of the appeal of a Perry! Gold Gotoh tuners with Ebony buttons on a solid headstock. The Soundhole is bound in Cedar, and
then surrounded by the spectucular rosette. Reversed kerfing inside, for those of you who like mirrors and lights :)) The Ebony fingerboard sports
jumbo frets and is bound in Ebony. The sound is HUGE with outstanding trebles. Hard shell case included in our price of SOLD.

Perry DJFS-12: (Don Jones Fingerstyle 12 fret) ~ 2003 Demo. We are VERY pleased to have a Perry in our shop at long last.
Don Jones introduced us to Darren's work a few years ago. Darren's guitars are different, but nothing is done just to be different.
There is a purpose to every thing. This guitar has 25 year old Indian Rosewood back and sides with a Western Red Cedar top.
The elevated fingerboard is Darren's special design. Abalone and wooden rosette. Clear pickguard. Abalone top trim. The body and fingerboard are bound in Ebony. The contour of the headstock,
bridge and fingerboard extension echo one another. Ebony fingerboard that measures 1 3/4" at the nut which alone is an amazing thing! It basically is a zero fret in combination with tiny posts that guide the strings.
Slotted headstock with Waverly gold tuners/Ebony buttons. 24 5/8" scale length. 2 3/8" string spacing at the saddle, and ~ each string has its own, individual saddle, for perfect action and intonation.
The lower bout measures 13 1/4"; the upper is 8 1/4", the waist is 8" and the guitar is 3 3/4" deep at the tail. Darren Perry was the featured luthier in a recent issue of FINGERSTYLE
GUITAR magazine. Nitrocellulose lacquer finish that has settled into the grain a bit. A few minor cosmetic issues, as this is a demo guitar.
And, for that reason, offered at the amazing price of SOLD! That includes the case, of course ~ and the totally serene sound that wafts from this baby when played. Front...
