PIANO GALLERY

We just can't help ourselves.....Just gotta love that wood! Sometimes, we find ourselves in the possession of a special acoustic piano.

  • Steinway Upright: Vintage ~ 1890's. Black. Fancy scroll work on the front. This would look great with some red velvet behind it. Original ivory keys that someone delicately filed the chipped tips off sometime during this lovely piano's lifetime. Doesn't affect playability in the least and has retained that wonderful Ivory touch and feel. The tone is downright righteous. Magnificient, truly. Full, rich, powerful, with bell-like trebles. The cabinet is by no means perfect, if you want that, you can do some touch up, refinish.... or maybe this old beauty is not for you. It is in very good condition for it's age, IMHO. Inside it says "Ebonized." There is a small music rack that folds down on the front. The serial number is 70041, that dates it at either 1892 or 1893. It is 53" tall. It was made in New York. Every key works, if you are particular, you are going to want to have some work done, but if you just want a fabulous antique Steinway in good playing condition now, this could be the one for you. Please check out all the pics, there is alot of information there. Our price is $5900. Shipping and transportation costs/arrangements are up to the buyer. However, we can recommend several piano moving companies. Front... Another shot... Yet another... Scroll-work... Label above keyboard... Label inside the piano... Another view... Keyboard...
