RADICIC GUITARS

Some Background
Sasha started with the art of Spanish and classical guitar making in the beautiful environment of
Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina, 23 years ago. Due to the war in 1992, he and his wife fled to Germany.
An incredible touch of luck lead them to rent an apartment only two floors above the "MUSIK HARTWIG"
company, where Sasha was privileged to work alongside the owner, Mr. Kurt Hartwig. Sasha spent six
years working as a luthier there.
When the German laws would no longer permit them to stay in Germany, they moved to
St. Louis, Missouri, where he, his wife and their daughter currently live.
Radicic guitars are made from the finest woods, e.g., fifteen-year-old European spruce for tops.
For backs and sides, several different types of wood are available -- Indian Rosewood, European Maple which is always figured, or Spanish Cypress for the Flamenco sound.
Occasionally Brazilian rosewood is utilized. Necks are usually formed out of "Cedro" (Spanish cedar),
and fingerboards of Ebony.
The spectacular rosettes on Sasha's guitars are a custom feature, and completely hand-made, which means one wooden
ring at a time.
Radicic's classicals are based on Torres. He is striving for a very "Spanish" sound - very responsive,
very vibrant and bright. Sasha wants to return to that sound from several hundred years ago, fabulously clean, yet lyrical.
His classicals are finished with French Polish.
