Some information about the rare woods utilized in this build, from the luthier, Sheldon Schwartz: The Bird's Eye Maple is from a southern Ontario
tree that was felled in the mid 1860's, cut into boards, put in a barn
and forgotten about. The boards were covered with a thick black coating
of grunge when I got them. The Cedar top is from billets that were
stored in a barn in British Columbia for 20 years. I just happened to
be at the lumber yard on the day the truck carrying them arrived. That
was sometime in the early 90's. - Was $6000, NOW $5495 !!
