This example has \u003cstrong\u003efantastic crazing\u003c\/strong\u003e throughout the lacquer finish that just adds to its mystique. At the time of this guitar's birth, Gibson had access to very fine Northern maple. Usually Red Maple or Sugar \u003cstrong\u003eMaple which was Very hard, with attractive figure\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eAdirondack Red spruce\u003c\/strong\u003e top\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003ePearloid fretboard\u003c\/strong\u003e with \u003cstrong\u003eBrazilian Rosewood rectangles\u003c\/strong\u003e for fret markers. These were inlaid with mother-of-pearl in the shape of diamonds (notched).\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ePearloid headstock faceplate and truss rod cover\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe headstock was a double inlay affair: 1st rosewood was put into the pearloid.
