One of the most delightful instruments to ever grace our shop, this little guitar will surely impress. Marc said, at the time he built this, that this was some of the most figured Brazilian rosewood in his wood stash. So, here we go:
Handmade in South Africa by luthier, Marc Maingard
Extremely high-grade and Old Brazilian Rosewood back and sides
German Spruce top
Delicate top BEVEL of Macassar Ebony, yes, even on an instrument of this size it feels good on the forearm
Extremely fine Red purfling all the way around, as Marc calls it - Even on the headstock
Marc pays great attention to detail, as you may know. Even the slots on the headstock are bound with multiple purfling lines
Sloane tuning machines with Ebony buttons
Extra fine classical rosette with matching inlays on the bridge tie block
Speaking of the bridge, it is a Mustache bridge hand carved from Brazilian Rosewood
The headstock faceplate & backplate are also Brazilian
The top purfling is red/green marquetry which also serves as the back center strip, tail strip, and one-of-a-kind, heelcap
The sides are lined with Brazilian Jeletong, contributing to the amazingly full and loud sound from such a small instrument
